How You Can Help

As our island grapples with where and how to build more affordable housing, identifying land that could support housing for local residents is our top priority. We believe there's a righteous solution: expanding the ability of religious institutions to build housing on their land.

With its rich missionary history, the Island holds acres of underutilized land and/or structures owned by Churches and other faith-based organizations. What if we could expand the supply of affordable housing for our brothers and sisters? Doing so could provide significant untapped benefits for your organization, from supporting your charitable mission to providing revenue that can stabilize its finances.

Let's Work Together

YIGBY is organizing the Churches and faith-based Communities to become a voting block and be able to support each other in developing affordable housing on their property - where appropriate. We are helping the NIMBYS and BANANAS see that we can work together and build the 5,000 housing units (based on the current 2020 Kaua'i County General Plan) that we desperately need.
